Armed Forces Day, Ayr, - 22nd June 2019

Armed Forces Day is an annual event and is a chance for members of the public to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. This show of support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families.
This year it was celebrated in South Ayrshire on Saturday 24th June and began with the official Armed Forces Flag Raising ceremony adjacent to the County Buildings. The event was combined with a Holy Fair and the Pipes in the Park on the Low Green. The military village, in which the various services were represented, contained many informative displays and interactive activities.
The event was attended by the Lord-Lieutenant, Sheriff Iona McDonald, OBE, and the Provost of South Ayrshire, Cllr Helen Moonie as well as a number of local dignitaries. A selection of photographs are shown below
