Presentation of Lord Lieutenant's Certificates of Meritorious Service- 2nd April 2026

The Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran and the Lord Lieutenant of Dumfries and Galloway jointly hosted a presentation ceremony in the 'A' the Airts Theatre Sanquhar on Thursday 2nd April 2026 in conjunction with the Lowland Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association.

The presentation of Lord Lieutenant's Certificates of Meritorious Service celebrated the best in members of the Cadet Forces and the partnership between them, their employers and the Lieutenancies. It also celebrated the significant commitment of the adult volunteers and their impact on young people in the South West of Scotland.

Two adult volunteers from Ayrshire were recognised with an award. They were Duncan McKechnie, who serves with  Ayr Sea Cadets , and William Mullin who serves with Irvine Sea Cadets.
