On Friday 25th June 2026 the Lord Lieutenant, Sheriff Iona McDonald , herself a Medallist of the Order of St John, attended the Annual Festival and Investiture of the Order of St John in the Auld Kirk Alloway, Ayr.

 

At the service St John Scotland proudly recognised the exceptional dedication of their volunteers and honoured them through admissions and promotions within the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, approved by His Majesty The King.

 

The service was also attended by Lord Prior Professor Mark Compton, continuing a long-standing tradition of service led by the Grand Prior, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester.

 

Following the service an excellent lunch was held in the Brig O Doon Hotel Alloway.
