Battle of Britain Memorial Service, Prestwick. - Sunday 17th September 2017


In common with many other towns and villages throughout the United Kingdom a Battle of Britain Memorial Service was held in Prestwick on Sunday 17th  September. The Lord-Lieutenant and Mrs Duncan attended the event at Prestwick War Memorial and thereafter at the RAFA Club, Ardayre Road Prestwick.
The annual event is regarded as occasion to mark the nation's gratitude for the service and sacrifice of those who took part in this critical phase of World War Two.
This years’ service comes marks 77 years since the battle, regarded as a divisive turning point in the Second World War.
