The Lord-Lieutenant, Sheriff Iona McDonald OBE, laid a wreath at the annual Battle of Britain Service of Remembrance at Prestwick War Memorial and in the Memorial Garden at the RAFA club in Prestwick on Sunday 17th September 2023.

 The service was conducted by the Rev. Fraser Aitken, who is also a Deputy Lieutenant, and attended by the local MP Dr Philippa Whitford, Elected Members of South Ayrshire Council, the Polish Consul General, representatives of the Canadian Air Force based at Prestwick Airport and many members of the local community.
