In June this year Jonathan Cartmell Miller from West Kilbride was awarded a British Empire Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours List for services to charity in Scotland.  After retiring from a successful career in business Mr Miller established a charitable trust with the aim of supporting many charitable organisations especially in terms of hospice and end of life care. His generosity has assisted numerous charities across Scotland and has helped many individuals in their time of need.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran, Sheriff Iona McDonald OBE (pictured above with Mr Miller) said” I am delighted that the contribution that Mr Miller has made to the wider community has been recognised and it was my great pleasure to present him with his Medal”
